Any given moment, countless people are listening to electronic music. It’s hard to believe that a mere ten years ago techno was considered an underground movement.

Probably the story will not reveal the secret to us and when the first time TECHNO was applied to music. One can only guess when this happened, and with what kind of music. The end of the 70's, the sunset of the first wave of disco music, the flowering of the music of electronic romantics, The Human League, OMD, Telex. And the fashionable term was not forgotten for long. Probably no one suspected, that the word techno will recollect after literally 2-3 years, on the other side of the globe, in Detroit, where Kraftwerk were, is, and will be cult people. It was there, the group Dj created the music, rightfully called now in the whole world a cold word techno.

Night Visions

Minimal Techno

It's just an extremely simple rhythm and a few specific, often synthesized, sounds. It's Techno with a few different noises. From the point of view of the literary description, Minimal Techno is not of particular interest, since it can be done with a single sentence. However, from a musical point of view, this style is very interesting and original because of the maximum simplicity of the minimal. This can be compared to the simplicity of a string quartet in relation to a large symphony orchestra (however, in this case, what the quartets do is not less curious).

Electro-Techno

Electro-Techno fell under the influence of events in the musical culture of the 80s, connected with the direction of Electro-Funk, as well as Detroit Techno and elements of Ambient-House. This style appeared in the mid-90's, when London clubs were inundated with songs in the returning electro style, combined with the invasion of robots and voices, processed by various speech effects. This style draws inspiration from the classic Electro representatives, such as Afrika Bambaataa's "Planet Rock."

Later, some of this population came to the conclusion that you can not only work under monotonous sounds, you can force people to dance under them.

Then Orbital throw us back into the maelstrom: into a blasting Terry Riley sample, into the relentless machine rhythm, into a total environment of light and sound. We forget about the fact that we're tired, that the person in front of us is invading our space with his flailing arms. Then, suddenly, we're there: locked into the trance, the higher energy.

Though genres rooted in decades-old traditions and structure, house and techno continued to evolve at a remarkable rate this year. One such example was the digital eruption of lo-fi house, a sub-genre driven on the back of YouTube algorithms, viral videos, and grainy, yet relentlessly catchy hooks. Offline, tribal house and techno saw a massive resurgence, thanks in large part to European imprints like Innervisions and Keinmusike pushing their low-key brand of hypnotic, afro-centric dance floor tracks.
